  Initial appointment went smoothly, I liked Dr Balterra. The nurse who did the pre-op phone call was thorough, kind and helpful. I felt confident about having surgery. Trying to schedule was a nightmare. They would tell you the date of surgery, but you wouldn't be given the time until 48 hrs before. I have childcare to arrange. It is a 1.5 hr drive without the construction on US 31. I asked to request a later surgery time and was told the surgery sets the schedule two days ahead of time. I requested another day, the next month, when I wouldn't have to worry about childcare and the scheduler said it was Thanksgiving...according to my calendar it wasn't even Thanksgiving week. I can not believe I am the only patient that has ever had to know what time they have to be there, in order to arrange care for other family members. At least I'm courteous enough not to let them schedule and then cancel because it's too early.

  Hi Doc, I just want you to know that staff at the hand center were awesome, they were very knowledgeable, and explained every thing to me. They were very kind and helpful throughout my stay.
